Family Reunion

We just had a reunion back in July. It was so fun. I just haven't had time to post anything yet, so here goes! Sandy and Douglas came early so we could let the kids relax and come up with
their own activities. Well their creativity came shining through with a once in a lifetime fashion show/talent show. It was absolutely amazing. I'm sure Sandy would agree. :) The girls dressed up and did an amazing job modeling, the boys showed off lego creations, did a "crazy dance", and we had an impromptu piano recital, complete with James and Ian showing off their piano talents.

We spent an eventful Thursday evening riding the train to SLC, visiting the planetarium, and running through the fountain at the Gateway. We met up with Dad and Matt's family to see the Tabernacle Choir in a practice and walk around temple square. Hunger took over and we ended up back at the Gateway for dinner and a train ride home. The whole thing was very eventful.

Friday morning we took off for the infamous Jungle Jims. My kids were slightly disappointed as they had grown from 2 years ago and the rides hadn't. :) They have been used to going to Lagoon all summer and these rides were a little bit more for littler kids. Next Family reunion we won't be doing Jungle Jims. :) It was fun, but the kids are getting too big. Then we went home, had a yummy pizza dinner and went swimming at surf n' swim. that was fun! It was my dentists free night where he had cotton candy and a food table set up for everyone to eat. The kids had a blast swimming and playing with cousins. We stayed there late and everyone went to bed exhausted. The next morning most everyone was up bright and early for fishing at the Kaysville ponds. Everyone that wanted to got a chance to reel in a fish. Matt kept one cat fish for cooking later. What a surprise for everyone when we show up at Matt's for dinner Saturday night to find that the fish was still alive! He had it in his kitchen sink! The kids thought it was awesome to have a live fish in the kitchen sink. I tried really hard not to look at it, but I looked too much and wasn't able to eat it when Matt cooked it up. :)

Saturday we spent the day at Matt's jumping on the trampoline with sprinklers, shooting bb guns, making crafts, and we opened the present that Uncle Jeff and Aunt Arielle sent. The kids LOVED the presents. And as you can see from the picture of Josh, the adults loved theirs too. That night we had a yummy chicken dinner and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks on the fence. The kids love doing that. All in all, I think it was a great family reunion. the kids were sad to see their cousins go.
